Food and Health Fact #56: Risk factors connected to Covid-19 and obesity

A study published by the CDC last week reported that in a group of nearly 150,000 adults who were hospitalized after testing positive for Covid-19 last year, 50.8% were obese and 28.3% were overweight. Among all the adults in the study, risks for admission to intensive care units, and for death, “increased sharply” among those with a higher body mass index.
