Food and Health Fact #14: Advertising spending on sugary beverages

In the United States, advertising expenditures on sugary beverages exceeded $1 billion in 2018 – a 41 percent increase since 2013, according to research published earlier this year. Those beverages accounted for at least one fifth of all U.S. weight gain from 1977-2007, according to research published in 2010.
